Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, and will take an active role in patient rehabilitation programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis for individualized care plans.
• Identify patient/family educational needs and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate actively in the patient rehabilitation program and prioritize patient education based on identified health care needs.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching on admission day.
• Effectively communicate changes in patient status to support continuity of care.
• Provide direction and training to ancillary nursing personnel, while delegating tasks as appropriate.
• Maintain a safe and supportive work environment through calm direction and organization.
• Assume charge responsibilities as needed after orientation period.
• Engage in professional development and ongoing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (specific to CIRH only).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
