Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, every other weekend and holiday.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), while fostering a safe and supportive environment for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission to develop individualized care plans.
• Identify and set teaching needs and goals in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient status updates during team conferences.
• Document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
• Participate actively in the patient rehabilitation program, applying the nursing process for direct patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and begin patient education accordingly.
• Communicate changes in patient status to the care team to ensure continuity and safety of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks efficiently.
• Promote a safe environment, adhering to safety policies, and addressing any risks or hazards.
• Support unit functioning through positive interactions with staff, patients, and families.
• Maintain communication with management regarding clinical needs and supply requirements.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
• Engage in professional development and continuing education opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid RN License.
• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (if applicable).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience.
