This position offers a night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours guaranteed each week.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Mother Baby Unit is responsible for delivering high-quality care to mothers and newborns. The RN will actively participate in clinical monitoring, patient education, and the development of discharge planning.
Responsibilities
- Participate in clinical monitoring at the unit level.
- Engage in established education programs for patients, families, and staff.
- Develop, document, and implement the Patient Teaching and Discharge Planning Record.
- Identify unit, staff, and patient care problems, taking appropriate actions or referring as needed.
- Potentially serve as Charge RN, monitoring productivity and patient flow if competent.
- Precept new staff if qualified.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- 2+ years of recent Mother Baby (M/B) nursing experience is required.
- Comfortable with a 1:8 patient ratio.
- Previous travel nursing experience is preferred.
- Must be willing to obtain NIHSS and NRP certifications within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
- Active COVID vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted.
- Active Maryland nursing license and American Heart Association BLS certification are required.
- Supervisory references from the last 6 months and 12 months are required.
- Skills checklist specific to Mother Baby nursing must be provided.
