Job Description

This is a challenging and fast-paced registered nurse position within a high-volume maternity care unit, serving obstetrical patients with over 300 births per month. The unit provides care for a variety of cases, including high-risk antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum situations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide nursing care for obstetrical patients.
• Conduct sterile vaginal exams and provide immediate newborn care.
• Handle double labor assignments effectively on a daily basis.
• Utilize PYXIS and EPIC systems for medication and patient management.
• Participate in triage procedures and outpatient care as needed.

Schedule

This position requires working night shifts, specifically from 18:45 to 07:15. Every other weekend is mandatory, with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts expected per 6-week schedule.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in high-volume obstetrical care, with preference for 3 years.
• Nursing licensure in the state of practice (NC or Compact license pending acceptance).
• Certifications: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP, and C-EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN.
• Experience with high-risk obstetrics and circulating in the OR strongly preferred.
