Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is executed effectively. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This position emphasizes maintaining patient and employee safety and upholding the organization’s core values. The RN performs nursing assessments, provides patient education, and participates in discharge planning. This role requires a commitment to teamwork and effective communication to support high-quality patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
- Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and responses timely and accurately.
- Engage in the patient rehabilitation program and focus on the education of patients and their families.
- Initiate discharge planning upon admission and provide necessary patient teaching.
- Maintain clear communication regarding patient status changes to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide direction and training to ancillary nursing personnel.
- Promote safety and actively participate in unit team-building activities.
- Assume charge responsibilities as requested and participate in ongoing professional development.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Active RN license required.
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS required prior to first shift (at specific locations).
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience, preferably with one year of ICU experience.
Schedule
This position operates on a day shift schedule of 3x12 hour shifts, with every other weekend required.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
