Medical Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12-hour rotation (Days/Nights: 07:00 - 19:00 / 19:00 - 07:00), with every other weekend required.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Medical Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our high-volume unit. The ideal candidate will possess a current New York RN license, with charge nurse experience and proficiency in Epic charting. This role involves caring for complex medical patients, with specific experience in managing a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients using telemetry and assess medical needs.
• Implement and manage care plans for complex care, orthopedic overflow, and long-term patients.
• Administer medications and manage IV infusions as per protocols.
• Assist with rapid response and code teams as necessary.
• Perform central and peripheral line care, phlebotomy, and blood product administration.
• Provide wound care and manage tracheostomy patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid NY RN License in hand.
• Charge nurse experience is required.
• Experience with patient ratios: 1:5 to 1:7.
• BLS and NIHSS certifications are mandatory.
• Epic charting experience is required.
