Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) - 4x12-Hour Night/Day Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shifts: 4x12-hour rotation – 0700-1900 (Day) and 1900-0700 (Night); includes every other weekend.

Job Description

The Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing comprehensive care in a high-volume MedSurg/Tele unit. This role requires strong clinical skills to manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7, including patients with complex diagnoses and care needs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient telemetry and perform assessments to ensure continuous patient safety.
• Administer medications and treatments as per protocol, including IVs, blood products, and cardiac drips.
• Manage care for complex patients, including handling feeding tubes, central lines, and PICC lines.
• Collaborate with the Rapid Response/Code teams while actively participating in critical care situations.
• Conduct patient education regarding health management, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Document patient care accurately utilizing the EPIC charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active New York RN License in hand - no exceptions.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a MedSurg/Telemetry environment.
• Previous charge nurse experience required.
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is mandatory.
