Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Cardiac and Stroke Unit. This unit focuses on stable pre- and post-care for patients undergoing various cardiac procedures and those with stroke-related conditions. Ideal candidates will possess a strong background in telemetry and IV management within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-operative care for cardiac patients including pacemaker implantation and cardiac catheterization.
• Monitor and manage telemetry and cardiac drips, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Participate in the rapid turnover of patients, effectively handling 6-patient assignments.
• Utilize clinical judgment to manage IV starts, blood products administration, and isolation precautions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record (EPIC).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac or telemetry unit.
• ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications are required.
• Experience with high patient acuity and fast-paced settings.
• Ability to float within the facility as needed.
