Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Maternal Child Health department is responsible for providing direct patient care to a designated group of patients. This role requires collaboration with unit leadership and adherence to the nursing practice standards established by governing bodies relevant to Maternal Child Health.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments focusing on physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs.
- Develop care plans utilizing a person-centered approach and involve patients and families in care goals.
- Demonstrate critical thinking by prioritizing both planned and unplanned care needs and addressing potential issues proactively.
- Implement technical skills necessary for patient care and act as a resource to peers.
- Coordinate and link patients and families with multidisciplinary team members as required.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Labor and Delivery experience required; Postpartum experience preferred.
- Current RN license.
- Compliance with health history requirements, including MMR, Varicella, and Tdap.
- Successful completion of background checks and drug screening as per facility requirements.
