Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Description

As an Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant, you will embrace the core values of the organization, delivering superior quality care and ensuring patient and employee safety. Your role will include implementing treatment goals and plans established by the Physical Therapist and assisting in therapeutic interventions to meet patients' long-term objectives.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out therapeutic interventions including posture training, strengthening exercises, endurance training, balance exercises, and pain relief techniques.
• Train patients in locomotion using assistive devices such as canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs.
• Demonstrate the use of modalities such as whirlpools, hot/cold packs, and therapeutic pools.
• Monitor patient responses to treatments and intervene as necessary.
• Document patient progress and response to treatment, ensuring effective patient and family education.
• Establish and maintain professional and ethical relationships with patients and staff, while complying with all policies and procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
• CAPTE Certification.
• 1+ years of outpatient clinical experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid state license applicable to the desired job location.
• Prior assignments with the agency are highly desired but not mandatory.

Schedule

This position operates on a 5x8.0 shift schedule.
