Emergency Department Registered Nurse - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) with options for 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend and holidays as scheduled are required.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in managing a wide range of diagnoses and exhibit strong skills in emergency nursing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients of all age ranges in the Emergency Department.
• Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and implement nursing interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Monitor and document patient progress and responses to treatment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and outcomes.
• Support emergency procedures such as intubation, chest tube insertion, and care of ventilated patients.
• Participate in triage and assessment of incoming patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an emergency department setting; 2 years preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse license for the state of Maryland or compact license.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI are required.
• Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
• Strong skills in emergency protocols and a comprehensive understanding of critical care situations.
