This is a 13-week contract position.
Job Description
The Occupational Therapist will provide excellent outpatient orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation services. This role focuses on implementing therapy programs for patients, incorporating modalities, splinting, and health and wellness education.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate physical and functional status, including muscle groups, motor function, and coordination.
- Implement treatment plans that include manual therapy, modalities, and therapeutic exercises.
- Prepare and instruct therapeutic exercise programs, developing home programs as needed.
- Document evaluations, progress notes, daily treatments, and discharge summaries in compliance with policies.
- Educate patients and caregivers on managing pain and improving safety and function.
- Perform Functional Capacity Evaluations and/or Work Screens as necessary.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers for treatment planning.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited AOTA program.
- Montana Licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Participation in two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease education within one year of hire preferred.
- Two years of hospital (inpatient/outpatient) occupational therapy experience preferred.
