Night shift: 1845 - 0715, every other weekend; 36 hours per week.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the core values of the organization, focusing on delivering superior quality care, treating others with respect, and achieving results.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
- Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely patient information for team conferences and ensure accurate documentation of assessments and interventions.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program on the assigned unit and prioritize patient education.
- Initiate discharge planning on the day of admission and patient education in anticipation of discharge.
- Communicate significant changes in patient status to relevant care providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel and effectively delegate tasks.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff in accordance with hospital policies.
- Participate in team-building activities to create a positive work environment.
- Assume charge responsibility after the orientation period, as requested.
- Seek professional development opportunities through continuing education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
- ACLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
- Minimum Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience is Highly Desired
