Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while contributing to a safe and effective patient care environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to create individualized care plans.
• Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient's status to all care providers to maintain continuity of care.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring effective delegation.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment that promotes patient and employee safety.
• Contribute positively to unit functions by providing reassurance and support to staff and patients.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after orientation.
• Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
• PCU/Critical Care experience highly desired.

Schedule

This position operates on a day shift, working 3x12 hour shifts.
