Schedule
This is a 13-week contract position. The shift is 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, requiring 36 hours per week with every other weekend scheduled. Taking call is a rare occurrence.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse will primarily work in the 1S Observation unit and will be required to float to other Med-Surg units such as Respiratory, Stroke, and Cardiac. The RN may also be assigned to the Emergency Department if they possess the appropriate skills and knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Observation unit and various Med-Surg units.
- Float to different units as needed, demonstrating versatility and adaptability.
- Utilize Epic EMR system proficiently for patient documentation and communication.
- Assess and interpret telemetry readings; competency in this area will be tested on the first day.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Active RN license.
- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in Telemetry/Med-Surg nursing.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- Proficiency in Epic EMR is mandatory; refreshers will not be offered.
- Must be able to read telemetry; immediate termination for failing competency testing.
