Job Description
The Certified Surgical Technologist will join a specialized team in the CVOR unit, providing critical support during surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to planning for potential issues, have strong teamwork capabilities, and possess excellent communication skills for direct patient interactions.
Responsibilities
- Assist in open heart procedures including CABG, MVR, TVR, AVR, VATS, and vascular procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure proper setup of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Coordinate room turnover and obtain necessary disposables and instrument sets as indicated.
- Support the surgical team with advanced skill tasks such as central line setup, arterial line setup, and operation of equipment such as Belmont and cell saver.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- CNOR certification preferred.
- Experience in scrub or circulate procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure surgical environment.
