Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in behavioral health to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients with various mental health diagnoses, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression. The role requires effective communication, a strong knowledge base in psychiatric nursing, and a patient-centered approach in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including medication administration and monitoring patient progress.
- Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to address patient needs and enhance treatment effectiveness.
- Utilize appropriate de-escalation techniques and manage crisis situations effectively.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using the EPIC charting system.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health nursing.
- Current RN license in North Carolina or compact state.
- Certifications: BCLS and MOAB (facility provides MOAB training).
- Ability to float to other units as needed.
