Job Description
The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive care to patients in the Medsurg and Cardiac Observation Unit, managing pre/post catheterization patients, chest pain rule-outs on heparin drips, and other cardiac-related conditions. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring cardiac rhythms, administering medications, and ensuring the overall well-being of patients in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform EKGs, bladder scans, FSBS, and vital signs monitoring.
- Administer and monitor patients on set-rate Cardizem and Amiodarone drips.
- Read and interpret cardiac strips.
- Collaborate with the Charge Nurse and Nurse Aides to provide high-quality patient care.
- Document patient care and interventions using the EPIC charting system.
- Participate in unit orientation and training for new team members.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Active RN license.
- BLS & ACLS certification required.
- Experience in reading cardiac strips and administering Cardizem and Amiodarone drips.
- Experience with TR Bands is a plus.
- Ability to care for high acuity patients.
