Mother/Baby Registered Nurse

Location

Maryland

Assignment Duration

This is an 8-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12-hour shifts, Days (08:00 - 20:30), with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Mother/Baby Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care for mothers and their newborns. Responsibilities include patient assessments, medication administration, and education for new parents on caring for themselves and their infants.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Conduct patient assessments and monitor mother and baby health.
  • Provide education and support for new mothers regarding breastfeeding, baby care, and recovery.
  • Assist with childbirth procedures and newborn care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using the Epic charting system.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • 2 years of experience required in a mother/baby unit.
  • Active RN license in Maryland or Compact state.
  • BLS and NRP certifications required.
  • ACLS and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred.
