Schedule

The role has an on-call requirement of roughly 3-4 weeknight calls and one 24-hour weekend call in an 8-week period. Weeknight call hours are from 9 PM to 7 AM, and weekend call hours are from 7 AM to 7 AM.

Shifts vary from:

• 6 AM to 6 PM
• 7 AM to 7 PM
• 8 AM to 8 PM
• 9 AM to 9 PM

Job Description

The Preoperative / PACU Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care before and after surgical procedures. The role requires a focus on patient safety, assessment, and monitoring to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preoperative assessments and prepare patients for surgery.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and recovery progress in the PACU.
• Administer medications and IV fluids as prescribed.
• Manage pain control and address any complications promptly.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license required.
• Completion of the Rhythm Interpretation Exam before onboarding.
• Proof of immunizations including MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, and TB test required during onboarding.
• Driver's License/State ID required.
• Completion of background check and drug screen as part of the onboarding process.
