Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting a safety-focused environment for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
  • Develop an individualized plan of care based on assessment data.
  • Provide timely patient information for team conferences and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
  • Communicate significant changes in patient status to appropriate care providers.
  • Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, promoting a collaborative team environment.
  • Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Assume responsibility for charge duties as requested and maintain open communication with management.
  • Actively pursue professional development through ongoing education and self-study.

Schedule

This position requires a night shift schedule of 3x12 hours per week.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS certification required prior to first shift for CIRH only.
  • Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
  • ICU experience is required.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
