Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Surgical Technologist

Schedule

Day shift: 5x8-hour schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with the possibility of an earlier start at 5:45 AM if required to have the patient ready by 7:00 AM. Call from home after 3 PM on weekdays and 24-hour coverage on weekends, approximately once a month.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Surgical Technologist with a strong background in open heart procedures. The ideal candidate must demonstrate experience in cardiovascular surgeries and be proficient in various surgical techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiovascular surgical procedures and ensure a sterile environment.
• Prepare operating rooms and ensure the availability of necessary instruments and equipment.
• Support surgeons and staff during procedures, anticipating needs as they arise.
• Monitor and maintain a safe environment for patients before, during, and after procedures.
• Participate in patient education and preparation for surgery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of CVOR experience, with open heart surgical experience preferred.
• Current BLS and CST certification required.
• Active PA or Compact license must be submitted at the time of application.
• Experience with electronic charting systems, preferably Cerner.
• Travel experience is required, and candidates must be open to floating within the hospital.
