Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift, 3x12.0 hours per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring nursing care plans are followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embodying the core values of the organization, which emphasizes superior quality, safety, teamwork, and resourcefulness.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to establish individualized care plans.
  • Identify teaching needs and goals based on nursing admission assessments and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide timely patient information and documentation of assessments, interventions, and responses in the medical record.
  • Engage in direct patient care utilizing the nursing process, emphasizing patient and family education.
  • Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and foster patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to relevant stakeholders to ensure continuity of care.
  • Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, providing direction and support in decision-making.
  • Promote and ensure personal and environmental safety in line with nursing policies and procedures.
  • Contribute positively to unit dynamics through effective collaboration and team-building activities.
  • Assume charge responsibilities as needed and actively pursue professional development opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS required prior to first shift (for specific facilities).
  • A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
