PACU Registered Nurse - Dayshift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

This position requires a 3x12 hour shift, Monday to Wednesday or Monday to Thursday, from 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with call responsibilities. Weekday call is 10 hours from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, and weekend call is 24 hours from 5:00 AM to 5:00 AM. Nurses do not need to be on site if there are no cases scheduled.

Job Description

The PACU Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing high-quality post-anesthesia care to patients. The RN will work collaboratively with the surgical team and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient recovery and safety. Responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and providing education to patients and families regarding post-operative care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient vital signs and conditions in the post-anesthesia care unit.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding recovery and post-operative care.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain a safe and effective environment for patient recovery.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in the patient’s medical record.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license from the state of practice.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• Experience in a PACU or critical care setting preferred.
• Completion of mandatory immunizations and health evaluations as outlined.
