Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport into and out of the facility as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional license and with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient conditions and recommend effective treatment plans.
• Explain the purpose and procedure of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients.
• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment, oxygen, and aerosol devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning using multiple methods.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography as per policy requirements.
• Review patient's chest x-rays and perform pulmonary function studies.
• Assist with respiratory-related procedures and perform tracheostomy care.
• Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation following BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Record and communicate essential patient information and treatment responses effectively.
• Maintain accurate respiratory therapy charging and data entry.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid respiratory therapy license.
• Experience in operating both invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment.
• Knowledge of routine respiratory care practices and emergency response protocols.
