Outpatient Physical Therapist

Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating all assigned patients and developing, implementing, and modifying treatment plans in accordance with the patient's needs, goals, and physician direction. The role requires delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs for effective community reintegration. The Physical Therapist will also serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers and perform other professional duties associated with patient care. Adherence to the organization's Mission Statement and Core Values is essential.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
• Utilize clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plans and goals aimed at progressing patients toward discharge.
• Document medical records in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner.
• Ensure care is provided under valid physician orders and within insurance approval.
• Participate in the student program by mentoring and providing a positive learning environment.
• Maintain skills and competencies as per the direct care provider’s competency program.
• Adhere to state practice act and regulatory agency requirements, maintaining professional licensure in good standing.
• Engage in continuous professional development and improvement initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
• 6 months to 1+ years of outpatient clinical experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid physical therapist license in good standing.

Schedule

This position is a 5x8.0 schedule, with 60-minute evaluations followed by 30-minute follow-up sessions.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
