Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
40 hours per week with 30 minutes to 1-hour unpaid lunch. Clinic hours are Monday to Friday from 7 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 8 am.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Physical Therapist to provide general evaluations and treatments that impact patients' functional abilities. The ideal candidate will oversee and direct the work of Physical Therapist Assistants and other designated staff members, ensuring high standards of patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct physical therapy evaluations and create individualized treatment plans.
- Supervise and modify therapy plans based on patient responses to optimize outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams and maintain communication with referring providers.
- Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and recommendations in compliance with policies.
- Develop and implement patient education and therapy programs tailored to individual needs.
- Ensure effective implementation of home exercise programs, confirming patient understanding.
- Assist in the procurement and fitting of durable medical equipment as needed by patients.
- Maintain clinical space cleanliness and stock adequate clinical supplies.
- Participate in staff education regarding physical therapy issues and patient care strategies.
- Engage in committee and management activities as required.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Entry-level master's or doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program, or equivalent experience.
- Active Physical Therapist license in Alaska at the time of submission.
- Current Basic Life Support certification.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in adult outpatient rehabilitation.
- Flu vaccinations are required.
