Occupational Therapist

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises occupational therapy treatment in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. This position emphasizes the importance of patient and employee safety, promoting a culture of safety and effective teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s level of functioning upon physician orders and implement appropriate treatment plans based on assessments.
• Participate in the interdisciplinary team process and engage in discharge planning for each patient, including adaptive equipment recommendations.
• Complete documentation according to department policies and procedures, including initial evaluations and daily progress notes.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and OT/COTA students in practical applications of occupational therapy.
• Promote a customer service attitude toward patients, families, and other staff members.
• Collaborate with team members to provide comprehensive patient care and participate in scheduled conferences and team meetings.
• Demonstrate good safety techniques for patient care and maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Budget time effectively and set priorities in completing assigned duties.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold a valid, current state license in Occupational Therapy.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience is required; previous acute care experience is preferred.

Schedule

This position offers a day shift (M-F, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) with no weekends and one holiday per year.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
