Job Description
The Cardiovascular Tech I will assist physicians with all procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, including but not limited to Cardiac Catheterization, Angioplasty, Atherectomy, and Intra-vascular Ultrasound. Responsibilities include preparing sterile trays, assisting in patient monitoring, and performing technical tasks to ensure efficient procedural execution.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile trays and organize specific equipment for procedures.
- Prepare patients for procedures, including EKG lead attachment and draping.
- Assist with transducer calibration and testing for accurate pressure readings.
- Support physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Operate digital cine technologies for patient imaging and records.
- Assist with inventory control and maintain technical equipment.
- Respond to emergency situations to maintain patient well-being.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory or an invasive procedure area in an acute care hospital.
- 6-12 months experience in a CVT accredited program or 2 years in another cardiac vascular laboratory.
- Familiarity with computers, hemodynamic monitoring, and sterile operative techniques.
- High school diploma or equivalent; BS preferred.
