Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with expertise in the Mother/Baby unit. This role involves providing high-quality care to mothers and their newborns, conducting clinical monitoring, and engaging in patient and family education. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and contribute to unit-level activities.
Responsibilities
- Participate in clinical monitoring at the unit level.
- Engage in patient, family, staff, and student education programs.
- Develop, document, and implement Patient Teaching and Discharge Planning Records.
- Identify unit, staff, and patient care problems, taking action or referring to appropriate resources as needed.
- May assist as a charge RN and monitor productivity and patient flow when competent.
- Precept new staff as applicable.
Schedule
This is a night shift position from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a guaranteed 36 hours of work per week.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- 2+ years of recent Mother/Baby (M/B) experience.
- Comfortable managing a patient ratio of 1:8.
- Willingness to obtain NIHSS and NRP certifications within 48 hours of being offered the position.
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
- COVID-19 vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted.
- Must hold a valid Maryland state nursing license.
- Previous travel nursing experience is preferred.
