Echo Sonographer Traveler

Location

York, Maine

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Monday - Friday between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; with weekend call required, 1 on 4 off, Saturday and Sunday from 8 am.

Job Description

The Echo Sonographer will assist the Cardiology Team by delivering direct and indirect patient care in the hospital and office setting. This role involves preparing patients and diagnostic equipment for imaging procedures, explaining procedures to patients, obtaining high-quality imaging, assisting physicians with data interpretation, and ensuring proper record-keeping in compliance with hospital and practice standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care according to protocols and procedures, demonstrating clinical competence in all modalities within echocardiography.
  • Educate patients and caregivers, acting as an advocate in patient care coordination.
  • Maintain exceptional customer service to enhance patient experiences and promote a professional environment.
  • Demonstrate competence in the use of echocardiography equipment and technology systems.
  • Organize exam rooms and assist with quality monitoring and inventory management.
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers and support staff to address practice and patient needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Must be proficient in all imaging modalities of Adult Echocardiography including Transthoracic Echo, Stress Echo, and Transesophageal Echo (TEE).
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer through ARDMS or CCI (R.D.C.S. or R.C.S.) preferred; registry required within 1 year of employment.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in infection control, safety, and required skill reviews.
