Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant

Assignment Duration

This is a short-term contract position from August 31 to October 16, 2023, subject to change based on the full-time PTA's return.

This position operates on a 5x8.0 schedule.

Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant will embrace the core values and practices of our organization, delivering superior quality care while prioritizing safety for both patients and staff. Responsibilities include assisting the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment plans and interventions aimed at achieving long-term patient goals.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment goals, plans, and modalities established by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist in therapeutic interventions including posture training, strengthening exercises, balance training, joint mobility, and functional skills training.
• Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices.
• Demonstrate proper techniques and safety awareness when using therapy equipment.
• Monitor patient progress and respond to treatment needs.
• Document patient outcomes and educate families on care and body mechanics.
• Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment while adhering to all safety protocols.
• Collaborate as a team player in interdisciplinary conferences to optimize patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current CAPTE certification and valid state licensure.
• 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.
