Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

5x8.0 - 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant will operate under the guidance of a Physical Therapist to implement treatment goals and support various therapeutic interventions. The role emphasizes the importance of patient and employee safety while adhering to the organization's core values.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment goals and programs.
• Carry out therapeutic interventions, including posture training, strengthening exercises, and pain relief activities.
• Train patients in locomotion using orthotics and assistive devices.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment and intervene as necessary.
• Document patient progress and response to treatment.
• Maintain a clean treatment area and adhere to safety and infection control guidelines.
• Participate in team conferences and special projects to enhance patient care quality.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• CAPTE Certified and active license for the state where work will be performed.
• Minimum of 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Outpatient orthopedic experience is highly desired.
