This is a 12-week contract position.
Schedule
Rotating shifts, including 3x12-hour day (07:30 - 19:30) and 3x12-hour night (19:00 - 07:00) shifts. Weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts are required.
Job Description
The Main PACU is a 28-bay unit providing 24/7 specialized peri-anesthesia care to patients across the lifespan and spectrum of acuity. The unit offers vigilant pre and post-operative care to inpatients and outpatients undergoing scheduled or emergency surgery across more than 20 surgical and procedural services. Nurses in this role will demonstrate versatility, providing care across a broad array of surgical and medical specialties, making it a unique opportunity for the life-long learner.
Responsibilities
- Titrate vasopressors and manage airway care.
- Care for ventilated patients and administer blood products.
- Conduct fluid resuscitation as needed.
- Provide comprehensive care to patients in various acuity levels.
- Assist in patient education and post-operative discharge instructions.
- Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Active RN license in Maryland or Compact State.
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (AHA only), NIHSS preferred.
- Strong ICU experience of at least 2 years is required.
- Experience in a PACU setting is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with Epic charting system is preferred.
