Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This role encompasses performing nursing assessments, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring the accurate documentation of patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
- Identify teaching needs and goals based on nursing assessments.
- Provide timely patient information for Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
- Responsible for accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
- Maintain personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies.
- Contribute positively to unit functioning and team dynamics.
- Assume charge responsibilities after the orientation period, as requested.
- Actively pursue professional development and continuing education.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift.
- ACLS Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY).
- Minimum Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience is highly desired.
Schedule
This position requires a 3x12 hour day shift schedule.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
