This is a Night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, totaling 36 hours per week.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients on the 8W Neuro/General Surgery Unit, which encompasses a mix of neurosurgery and general surgery patients, with potential stepdown care as needed. The nurse will work in a dynamic team environment and float within their scope to meet facility needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and monitoring for individuals recovering from neurosurgery and general surgery.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in patient and family education related to health status and care plans.
- Document patient care and progress in the electronic medical record (EPIC).
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 1 year of registered nursing experience is required.
- Current South Carolina registered nurse license or multi-state/compact state RN license.
- BLS certification is required.
- Preferred certifications include ACLS and NIHSS.
- Experience in neuro nursing is preferred.
