This position requires a full-time commitment with shifts from 13:00 to 01:00.

Job Description

The competent Nurse, in a clinical setting, practices independently while demonstrating an awareness of all relevant aspects of situations. This role entails providing both routine and complex care, with a focus on meeting long-range goals and plans. The RN will continue to develop the capabilities to cope with and manage contingencies in clinical nursing. Responsibilities also include making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to support the management of clinical situations.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Utilizes the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients in accordance with the ANA's Scope and Standards of Practice.
• Addressees increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments according to protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and resources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required.
• Current RN license in the state of Texas or Compact state.
