Job Description
The Surgical Technologist (CST) will assist in surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient care and safety in the cardiovascular operating room. This role requires effective communication and a collaborative approach to problem solving in a high-pressure environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical procedures.
- Scrub or circulate for open heart surgeries including CABG, MVR, TVR, AVR, and vascular procedures.
- Ensure all disposables and instrument sets are available and ready for use.
- Assist in central line and art line set-up.
- Utilize Belmont and cell saver equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to plan for potential issues and streamline processes.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current CST certification.
- BLS Certification.
- Preferred: CNOR certification.
- Strong understanding of sterile technique.
