Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient and family support and nursing care within their full scope of practice. The RN executes the nursing process to provide effective, evidence-based care, including the assessment, development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs and services for patients, families, and the community. Responsibilities include observing data collection, planning, implementing, and evaluating the patients' physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs as guided by an individualized and ongoing plan of care. The RN works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team and communicates in a clear and respectful manner with both patients and teammates during every encounter, representing the organization with the highest level of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Follow the mission, vision, and values of the organization by demonstrating integrity, reliability, emotional maturity, compassion, and caring for patients, families, and coworkers.
• Involve patients and families in establishing care goals and implement interventions for attainment of these goals while reflecting resourceful involvement of team members.
• Facilitate the linking of patients and families to other disciplines and services as needed.
• Demonstrate competence in the technical skills required for the care of patients and families.
• Act as a resource to others and assist peers in acquiring department-specific knowledge, skills, and behaviors.
• Evaluate care to reflect the attainment of care goals and demonstrate proficiency in clinical documentation.
• Make appropriate clinical decisions and prioritize both planned and unplanned events, proactively addressing potential and actual problems.
• Recognize and incorporate the value of research and evidence-based practice in nursing.
• Assume responsibilities within the team and care delivery system and effectively delegate tasks while following the delegation process.
• Demonstrate leadership at the point of care through decision-making, advocacy, collaboration, and influence on patient outcomes.

Schedule

This position operates on a schedule from 07:00 PM to 07:00 AM.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active State Licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Compliance with established practices in clinical documentation.
• Knowledge of current organizational policies, procedures, and standards.
• Completion of health history and necessary vaccinations (MMR, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Varicella, TB test).
