Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients. The RN will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide care to patients in a 26-bed ICU setting with a focus on trauma, stroke, and neuro elective procedures.
- Administer medications and manage IV therapies including central lines, PICC lines, and arterial lines.
- Perform respiratory interventions and manage ventilated patients, including BiPAP/CPAP and HFNC.
- Monitor and interpret vital signs and laboratory results, including arterial blood gases (ABGs).
- Coordinate care and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy and social services.
- Participate in patient education and support families during critical care processes.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Active RN license in NJ or Compact license.
- At least 2 years of experience in critical care nursing.
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
- Experience with Cerner/PowerChart charting system preferred.
