Day shift, 5x8 hours (07:00 - 15:00). Weekend coverage required on a rotational basis with other therapists.
Job Description
The Acute Care Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will provide high-quality care to patients in a Short Term Acute Care facility. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to work independently and is motivated to meet the needs of patients effectively. This role requires acute care experience, particularly in medical and surgical settings, with preferred experience in inpatient rehabilitation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in evaluating patients and implementing treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Provide therapy interventions to meet individual patient needs.
- Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and families about exercises and rehabilitation programs.
- Float between units as required, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an acute care setting.
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
