Radiologic Technologist I - Cath Lab

Schedule

Shift: 10 Hours (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM) - 4 x 10, Weekends Required, Holidays Required

Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. This role involves performing essential job functions in a cath lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Produces diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients and selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs.
• Restricts radiation exposure by using cone and collimating devices.
• Performs portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and the emergency room.
• Identifies and marks patient films correctly as per operational procedures.
• Develops exposed x-ray films using appropriate processing methods.
• Completes administrative duties related to scheduling, patient instructions, film filing, and reception.
• Assists patients as needed with moving, turning, and getting on and off x-ray tables.
• Maintains an orderly x-ray room as directed by the head of the department.
• Prepares and assists physicians in administering radiopaque contrast media to patients.
• Identifies and adapts care based on the needs of the patient population served.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Experience with manifold systems is a must.
• Preferred years of experience: 3 years.
• Required licenses and certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, RCIS.
• Communication skills are essential.
