This is a 16-week contract position.
Schedule
Rotating night and evening shifts (19:00 - 07:30 / 15:00 - 03:30). Required to work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.
Job Description
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) will provide high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced emergency department setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and the ability to manage complex patient cases effectively.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patient conditions in the emergency department.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient care management.
- Provide care for patients with various conditions, including but not limited to acute psychosis, respiratory infections, and trauma.
- Perform procedures such as intubation, central line management, and EKG interpretation.
- Manage and support patients through mental/behavioral health crises.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (Epic).
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting.
- Active RN Maryland state license or compact license.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI.
- Experience with Epic charting system.
