Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift, 3x12 Schedule

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, with a focus on promoting patient and employee safety. This position exemplifies the core values of the organization, emphasizing superior quality care and a supportive work environment for all staff.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to establish individualized care plans.
  • Identify and communicate patient teaching needs and collaborate with the Interdisciplinary team.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and responses accurately and in a timely manner in the medical record.
  • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, providing direct patient care and education.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
  • Ensure continuity of care by effectively communicating changes in patient status to relevant care providers.
  • Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring effective delegation and prioritization of tasks.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment by adhering to safety policies and protocols.
  • Contribute positively to team dynamics, fostering a collaborative work atmosphere.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
  • Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH only).
  • Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is required.

This position operates on a 3x12 hour day shift schedule.
