Job Description

The Physical Therapist provides comprehensive Physical Therapy services to patients, including assessment, treatment plan development, and implementation, as well as follow-up and discharge planning. This role includes active participation in clinical department operations, program development, and performance improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to determine patients' physical and cognitive abilities.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable goals, incorporating patient and family participation.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including initial evaluations, daily progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Participate in patient care conferences, family conferences, and departmental meetings.
• Provide counseling to patients and families regarding evaluation, care, and treatment options.
• Assist in the supervision of Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Assistant student programs.
• Coordinate and supervise department operations to ensure quality patient coverage and associate orientation.
• Adhere to departmental productivity standards and participate in community resource awareness.
• Engage in educational opportunities and research activities relevant to the role.
• Foster professional relationships with medical staff and referral sources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor's, Master's, or entry-level Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from an accredited institution.
• Current New Mexico Physical Therapist Licensure.
• BLS certification via AHA required.
• No prior experience is required.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
