Registered Nurse - Level III Trauma Center

Job Description

The competent Nurse, in a clinical setting, practices independently while demonstrating an awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. This role involves providing routine and complex care, effectively managing clinical situations, and continuing to develop the ability to cope with contingencies in nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with nursing standards.
• Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and available resources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 2 years of experience in the related nursing specialty required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA only).
• RN License in the state of Texas or compact required.

Schedule

Preferred shift is 10 AM to 10 PM, with flexibility for 11 AM to 11 PM or 12 PM to 12 AM; options for 4x10s or 3x12s are available.
