PACU RN - Day Shift

Schedule

Day shift, 3x12-hour schedule from 07:30 to 20:00.

Job Description

The PACU RN will provide high-quality post-anesthesia care to patients in a fast-paced environment, ensuring patient safety and comfort following surgical procedures. The RN will assess, monitor, and implement appropriate interventions required for patients recovering from anesthesia.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough assessments of patients upon arrival to the PACU.
• Monitor vital signs and level of consciousness continuously.
• Administer medications as prescribed and in line with established protocols.
• Manage airway and ensure proper ventilation for patients as needed.
• Coordinate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold an active RN license in the state of Maryland.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required.
• A minimum of 2 years of PACU experience and 2 years of ICU experience.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred.
• Travel experience is required.
