Surgical Services RN - Ambulatory Surgical Unit

Day shift, 4x10 hours (07:00 AM - 05:30 PM)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Services RN to join our Ambulatory Surgical Unit. The ideal candidate will be proficient in preoperative care for Phase II patients in an ambulatory setting and must be willing to float between multiple facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative and postoperative care within an ambulatory surgical unit.
• Conduct Phase II recovery for patients following surgical procedures.
• Perform IV starts, medication reconciliation, and pain assessment & management.
• Interpret and communicate lab values and provide discharge instructions.
• Prepare and obtain consent for operative/procedural interventions.
• Implement isolation precautions and adhere to safety protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in surgical services.
• Pediatric experience is required.
• Must hold current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
• Epic charting system experience preferred.
