Job Description
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for performing cardio-pulmonary evaluations and providing respiratory care to patients of all ages. In this role, you will work with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system, following established protocols or physician prescriptions. The therapist will also educate patients, families, and the public regarding respiratory health.
Responsibilities
- Conduct cardio-pulmonary evaluations and assessments
- Administer respiratory care and perform life support procedures
- Provide educational support to patients and their families about respiratory health
- Work effectively with both in-patients and out-patients
- Perform duties in various departments throughout the hospital
Schedule
This position is for day shifts, working 12 hours from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, totaling 36 hours per week.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
- New York State License for Respiratory Therapy
- Current certifications in NRP, BLS, PALS, and ACLS
- Associate's degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program
- Experience in Labor & Delivery and Neonatal Resuscitation
- Proficiency in Critical Care settings
