Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. This role involves supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orienting new staff. Embracing the core values of patient and employee safety, the RN plays a crucial part in fostering an environment centered on safety and quality care.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis for an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses through collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for initial and follow-up team conferences.
• Engage in the patient rehabilitation program by delivering direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning on admission and commence patient teaching to facilitate a smooth transition.
• Ensure comprehensive communication regarding patient status changes among care providers.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel while enhancing team dynamics for optimal operational efficiency.
• Maintain a safe environment in alignment with hospital and nursing policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to unit function by providing reassurance and guidance to staff, patients, and families.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS required prior to the first shift for specific facilities.
• Minimum two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desirable.
• Charge experience is highly preferred.

Schedule

This position offers a day shift with a 3x12.0 schedule, providing a balanced work-life harmony.
